As we move into December and the temperature drops, it was heating up in the Vale league with plenty of action.
We start in Division One where the top two clashed, locked even on points going into the game, Barry Belgrade took the spoils with a 2-0 victory over Barry Athletic B. The result drops Athletic B to third as FC Pumas went second, a point behind the leaders, with a 3-2 win over bottom side Cardiff Airport. Cogan Coronation thumped fourth place SP Billy 5-1 to go within two points of them. Dockers won their second nine goal thriller in a week as they edged out Glenbrook 5-4 making it four games unbeaten. The result of the Cadoxton Barry vs Sully Sports game was unknown as of writing.
In the Premier Division there were only three fixtures, St Athan missed the chance to close the gap on leaders Vale United to three points in their game in hand as they were held 1-1 by fifth place Cowbridge Town. Penarth Town went third with 5-2 over Dinas Powys Athletic and Rhoose made it three league wins on the bounce with a 3-1 victory over Island Marine at Maslin Park.
In Division Two, leaders Cadoxton Imps got back to winning ways in style after last weeks draw as they routed BVFC a mammoth 11-2, BV in somewhat of a free fall in recent weeks, as that makes it five games without a win with Island Marine closing the gap on fourth to three points, with a game in hand, after a 1-0 win over bottom placed side FC Pumas B. Barry Saints stayed seven points behind Imps as they secured a narrow 2-1 win over third place Penarth Town B. Finally, St Athan B made it three wins in a row with a big 6-1 thrashing of Rhoose B.
