Strong rumours have circulated that the highly acclaimed ‘The Gallery’ restaurant in Barry has closed. Over the past few months the business has been up for sale and was featured in a Wales Online report as to why it was up, but it hasn’t been open since New Years Eve, nearly 3 weeks ago.
The restaurant has won a number of awards over the past few years including; Wales’ Waitrose Good Food Guide Reader’s Restaurant of the Year 2016, Welsh Sustainable Restaurant of the Year 2014 and 2015, Food Made Good 2016, South Wales Echo Restaurant of the Year 2015 and Squaremeal’s 75th Best Restaurant in the UK 2016.
Rumours have been circulating online as the restaurant was apparently shut on last week and the phone number is now dead 01446 735300, it doesn’t even ring.
@TheGalleryBarry Are you opening this year? was hoping to come again 🙂

The restaurant was put up for sale at a price of £295,000 including fixtures and fittings and recently had a turnover of £255,000 net of VAT.
If these reports are true, this could be the second well established restaurant in Barry to close within a year as Giuliano’s, located on the parade closed in early 2016.
There is currently no information on either ‘The Gallery’s’ social media accounts or website, the premises and a menu has not been released for January.
@TheGalleryBarry could you let me know January's menu please? I can't find it on the website. Looking to book on the 25th.
