Pride in Barry is pleased to announce details of our first litter pick, to take place in the grounds of the Memorial Hall on Sunday November 6th at 10:30am. PIB (Pride in Barry) is aiming to get the grounds looking their best for the Remembrance Day Service which will take place on Sunday 13th November.
Rhian Lees, Chairwoman of Pride in Barry said:
“There’s been a lot of discussion about the “Memo” and its position in the community over the last couple of months on social media and Pride in Barry felt this might be a good way of bringing people back together to remember the original reason why the Hall is there. It’s a focal point of the town and its presence in the community becomes all the more important at this time of year.”
If you’d like to help, all you need is a pair of gloves or a litter picker and a high viz vest or something brightly coloured (‘elf and safety). The Trustees have offered to make us tea, and Pride in Barry will provide the biscuits! Many hands make light work and it shouldn’t take more than an hour! Head over to our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/prideinbarry) and leave a comment on the events page if you’re coming.
