Mack Events bring Christmas cheer to Barry

Mack Events brought Christmas cheer to Barry Leisure Centre for a Christmas night out which was headlined by 9 piece motown and soul band ‘Gimme Some Lovin’.

The night sold out weeks ago, and the people of Barry came out in force to enjoy a night out, in what has been an un-used and untested location.

The music started off with Primo Acoustic Duo, who played the GlastonBARRY VIP party, and was then headlined by ‘Gimme Some Lovin’ who got the dancefloor rocking. Even Santa turned up.

Matt Blumberg, co-owner of Mack Events said:

“Thanks to everyone who came to our Christmas party last night, thanks to all our staff for working so hard, to Barry leisure centre staff for their help, to JPL Sound and Communications for making the stage look brill, to Gimme Some Lovin’,and Primo Acoustic Duo for some excellent live music, Trystan Davies for keeping us all safe and to Father Christmas for turning up for a visit! Time to chill out now! See you all in 2017! Have a lovely Xmas!”

Ross Mackintosh commented:

“We had so many people asking us to put on a Christmas party, so we thought we would put one on.We needed a big venue so we thought we would try Barry Leisure Centre as a pop up event. We booked 9 piece Motown & Soul Band ‘Gimme Some Lovin’ to headline the night and Primo Acoustic to open. It was a great way to end the year with ‘Gimme Some Lovin’ playing over two hours of Live Motown classics. The Sound team did a great job of adapting to the challenging acoustic sound at the venue and ‘Gimme Some Lovin’ were absolutely fantastic. It was an amazing live set to end a very successful 2016 for us. All our attention will now turn to Penarth Rocks in April and of course announcing our biggest and most well known event ‘GlastonBARRY. We would like to thank everyone who has supported us in 2016 and wish everyone a merry Christmas.”
