As part of Road Safety Week 2016 schoolchildren are helping the police to crackdown on irresponsible parking and speeding around All Saints C/W Primary School in Barry.
Following concerns from children, local residents and parents, officers from the South Wales Police Station in Barry have decided to recruit some All Saints pupils to help get the message out about road safety to all our families.
Pupils joined PCSO’s on patrol around the school and spoke to parents to raise awareness of speeding and inconsiderate parking.
A Year 6 pupil said: “road safety around schools is very important but drivers will only change their behaviour if they are aware of the consequences and who better to hear it from than a pupil at the school”.
Mr Davies (Y6 teacher) commented, “The pupils thoroughly enjoy being part of a process that will make a big difference to their safety and are a credit to their community.”
We look forward to developing this scheme and continuing to work the Police, parents and local community to keep everyone safe around our school.
