This week we showcase U12 Barry Town Utd girls team. Here’s an overview of their season to date from coach Gino Esposito.

“This is without doubt a highly talented squad that with time will begin to win things on a regular basis. Their attitude at training and Match days is exemplary and a credit to our great club.”

Barry Town Utd Ladies U12 started the 2016/17 season with a very large squad of 20 players. With so much outstanding quality within that squad it was hoped that they would do extremely well this season and so far have the girls have not disappointed.

After finishing runners up their first campaign of the U12 West Division it meant they qualified for Division 1. As the squad was so big the difficult decision was taken to allow 6 players to move over to its sister team BTU Wanderers. I am pleased to say that those girls have gone on to play an integral part of that team and continue to flourish.

With the U12 Division 1 league almost complete it looks highly likely that the remaining squad will finish runner ups again. A great achievement. We are soon to embark on the SWWGL League cup where it is hoped this squad will make the final but time will tell.

This is without doubt a highly talented squad that with time will begin to win things on a regular basis. Their attitude at training and Match days is exemplary and a credit to our great club.
