Andrew Selby’s Next Opponent Revealed

After defeating Felix Moncada in a fifth round stoppage of an international flyweight contest in Edinburgh on October 21st. British Flyweight Champion, Selby now has a new opponent, in Philippines boxer Jake Bornea and the bout will be for the vacant IBF inter-continental flyweight title.

The fight will be held at SSE Wembley Arena on Friday November 18th and will be screened live on Channel 5. It’s also part of the under-card which features the main event of George Groves and Eduard Gutknecht in a WBA International Super Middleweight title fight.

Andrew ‘AC Superstar’ Selby has made a very impressive start to his professional boxing career and is unbeaten in 6 pro fights. He takes on Bornea who also hails from the same town as Manny Pacquiao and ranked 15th by the WBO.

Andrew spoke to the First Class Boxing site and provided the following comment:

“It’s great to be back in action so soon after my win in Edinburgh on Channel 5. The fans response from that win was amazing and I can’t wait to put on another big performance in London.

“Jake Bornea is another step up in class as he’s ranked in the world’s top 15. I don’t know too much about him but I know there’s great talent in the flyweights from the Philippines so I will be ready.”
