Andrew Selby’s next fight confirmed!

Barry’s undefeated British flyweight Champion, Andrew Selby (5-0) is set to take on unbeaten Hermogenes Castiillo over 10 rounds in Edinburgh on Friday October 21st. The fight will also be screened on Channel 5 for all fans that are unable to make the trip.

Both fighters are unbeaten, with Castillo, 11-0 and will provide a mouthwatering bout on the under card of Josh Taylor vs Dave Ryan for the vacant Commonwealth super-lightweight title, at the meadow bank arena.

Selby told Boxing News Online:

Winning the British title in my first year as a pro was a great start, now with the other British fighters like Butcher, Edwards and Satchell all pulling out to box me I want to push towards European and world titles. That starts on October 21 in Edinburgh and I can’t wait to perform in front of the passionate Scottish fans.”

His opponent is highly ranked in his home country of Nicaragua, but will definitely be hoping to cause a significant upset, claiming he will Knock out Selby. Castillo commented to Boxing News Online:

I am travelling to Scotland to cause a big upset, I will knockout Selby on October 21 and it will be beautiful,” said Castillo. “He [Selby] is highly regarded in the UK but the standard at our weight is poor in Europe and I will show him what it feels like to fight a real flyweight.”

The fight is being put on Barry McGuigans Cyclone Promotions and will be screened live on Channel 5.

Everyone here at The Daily Vale wishes Andrew all the best in the fight! C’mon Selby!!
