Aircraft divert to Cardiff Airport due to fog at Bristol

Monday saw five aircraft divert to Cardiff Airport from Bristol as fog impacted the North Somerset airport.

The first of the five diverted aircraft arrived shortly before 10am which was an EasyJet Airbus A319 operating from Belfast International.

This was followed by a EasyJet Airbus A319 from Glasgow and two bmi Regional Embraer 145’s from Brussels and Paris CDG respectively.

The final diverted aircraft landed at Cardiff Airport shortly after 12pm from Copenhagen.

All passengers were offloaded and ground transport provided for passengers to continue to their final destination.

Flights at Cardiff Airport were impacted by fog on Thursday as several aircraft had to divert to both Birmingham and Bristol leading to delays and cancellations that lasted until Friday.
