A voyage of a lifetime!

Young Barry residents are in with another chance of winning a life-changing sailing experience. Barry Town Council, in association with the Tall Ships Trust, have launched the Barry Marine Youth Award for 2017 which will involve an all-expenses paid voyage, in UK waters, sailing as a member of the crew aboard the tall ship Stavros S Niarchos, or one of their other vessels subject to availability.

The award, available to Barry residents aged from 12 to 25 years, will offer the opportunity to make new friends, enjoy new and unique challenges and sail aboard a magnificent ocean going square rigged tall ship during the summer of 2017.

Applicants need to apply in writing explaining why they should be considered for this  experience or if you are a Parent, Guardian, Teacher, Youth Leader or a member of the public that know of such a Young Person who might benefit from such an opportunity then nominate them explaining WHY they deserve this chance.

Applications are welcome in English or Welsh.

Deadline for applications is Tuesday, 31 January 2017 and winners will be selected by Friday, 31 Match 2017 with the voyage during the summer of 2017.
