It’s official, Wales strongest couple is from the Vale. Over the past few months we’ve been following the progress of Vale couple Natalie Roberts and Nathan Szuchnik and their quest to become the strongest male and female within their weight categories in Wales.
The Welsh ‘strongman’ competition was held on the Easter weekend in Cardiff and both competed in their relative weight categories. Nathan in the men’s under 105Kg and Natalie in the Women’s under 63Kg category.
We’re pleased to report that both Nathan and Natalie came first in their weight categories.
Overall, Natalie came 1st in all 5 of her events and set a new Welsh record in the deadlift for under 63kg deadlift. The lift was 152.5kg. She has now qualified for Britain’s strongest women in October.
Nathan finished 1st overall, winning 4 of his events and finishing 2nd and 3rd in the other 2 events. Due to finishing 1st, Nathan has now qualified for UK’s Strongest Man in the under 105kg in July and then Britain’s Strongest Man in the under 105kg in August. Later this year he will also compete in the Europe’s Strongest man competition.
We must say this is a remarkable achievement from the couple and it’s fair to say, both Nathan and Natalie can be crowned the ‘Vale’s Strongest Couple’. The couple would like to say a massive thank you to their sponsors: SNS Supplements, Pro fitness Wales and urban Lifters.
