Risca United 0-3 Barry Town United

Barry travelled away to Ystrad Mynach to play against Risca United after last week’s victory placing the town at the top of the table, it was now all hands on deck to secure promotion.

It was a slow start for Barry, as Risca – who are fighting to survive from the relegation zone, were attacking hard. Callum Sainty, TJ Nagi and Louis Gerrard all had an opportunities to score for Barry but it was defender Luke Cooper who scored a header from a corner to get the first goal for Barry.

Barry kept going at it as Drew Fahiya, who was making his 50th appearance for Barry, dashed through the box, passing it to Paul Morgan who scored the second goal of the game in the 39th minute.

Second half was a quiet one but both teams attempted to secure a goal. TJ Nagi was hungry to add to his season goal tally as he secured the third goal of the game in great fashion in the 73rd minute.

Goalkeeper, Mike Lewis had another great game, stopping many chances from Risca who continued to pull a goal back.

In the end, it was Barry who came out on top once again, and with Ton Pentre beating Goytre, it increased the gap between Barry and Goytre at the top of the table. Next week’s game involves both sides and for Barry, it’s now or never.
