Paws in the Vale: A new pilot scheme!

Hooray! Dog walking is allowed back on the beaches within the Vale for the next few months, but have you heard of Paws in the Vale? A new pilot scheme which runs from the 1st October 2016 until the 31st January 2017, with the aim of helping shops, eateries and accommodation in the rural Vale become more dog friendly during this period.

Visit the Vale’s website states: “The Rural Vale of Glamorgan is a wonderful place for a holiday, weekend break or day trip with your faithful friend. With our spectacular Glamorgan Heritage Coast, beautiful beaches and wooded valleys and varied landscape you and your dog will have great days out for a walk, sniff and explore.”

There’s now a number of shops, places to eat and drink and places to stay that are now dog friendly. Each place will have it’s own ‘dog friendly’ guidelines but it now makes it easier for you to enjoy the Vale even more. On top of the pilot scheme, there are a number of shops and cafe’s over Barry Island that are dog friendly such as Coffee Cove, K9 plus 1 and Marcos Cafe, who also sell frozen doogie treats too!

There is an entire network of Vale trails that both you and your dog can enjoy. Now, lets explore the Vale with our 4 legged friends.
