He’s Dj’d everywhere from Bostons nightclub in Barry, Ibiza to all over the world, and has had his music appear on Maya Jane Coles Fabric London (#Savefabric) compilation CD’s.
We take a look at our Earl Jeffers / Chesus / Metabeats Top 5.
Chesus – Special
Released in 2013 as part of the C.R.S.T Vs Chesus EP and samples the The O’Jays – Darling Darling (Baby Sweet Tender Love). ‘Special’ is our clear favourite on the Monster Munch EP, although the entire EP has funky 90’s house and early garage influences. Special has a more upbeat tone and commercial vibe to it, sprinkled in with a sped up 70s’ disco sample, it never fails to put a smile on our faces 🙂
Metabeats – Live and Let Live FT C Minus
Warning Parental Advisory on this one. Taken from his debut album ‘Metaphysical’ and features Barry rapper/producer C Minus (aka Cervantis, Hekla). Released in 2007, this track has 70’s influences and features Jeffers as his Metabeats alias, showcasing his rapping ability.
Alicia Myers – I want to thank you (Earl Jeffers edit)
Anytime you sample an early 80’s funk, soul and disco classic that has already been sampled by Mariah Carey, E40, Q Tip & Busta Rhymes, you need to make sure its up to scratch and Jeffers does just that with his soulful loops of Myers’ vocals. It finally got released in 2014 as a free download after months of dropping it in his sets.
Earl Jeffers – Gloria
The latest release from the same tilted ‘Gloria EP’ has an energetic mix that releases pure pleasure and sunshine. Jeffers is at this best on this EP, and has produced nothing but a stellar output capable of being included in any house set.
Metabeats Ft Vanity Jay – Passport
The lead single from his last album as Metabeats ‘Cavier Crackle’, and is a cosmic blend of RnB and funk which really makes you think if it’s a cover or not. The video has mullets, shell suits, disco balls and more to really give it that 80’s feel. The video is all about the past but it really is a future classic from Metabeats!
So, that’s our Earl Jeffers/ Chesus top 5. We know we’ve missed a few out such as Pleasure Signal, The Goose and Maad Tight. What’s your favourite Jeffers / Chesus song? Let us know!
