Carols in the park, which is an annual event organised by Barry Brass Band at Victoria Park, was held on Friday December 9th between 6-8pm and raised more than £800 for charity. The event, which is in its 5th annual year was attended by over 100 people and all money raised went to Macmillan Cancer Care.
Barry brass band play for over 2 hours and included a wide mixture of carols and seasonal songs. Even Santa Claus turned up to make an appearance.
Sales of mulled wine, hot chocolate, soup and a raffle helped raise more than £500 on the night, but the event has raised eve more money, totalling in over £800.
Rowena Hughes, who is the booking secretary for Barry Brass band helped organise the event in conjunction with John Greatrex from the Vale of Glamorgan Council. Rowena commented they were “very grateful to Cadoxton Bowlers for allowing us use of their pavilion’

Rowena also commented:
“This year has seen the biggest crowds due to the mild weather. People look forward to it as a step into Christmas ,while raising money for a cause close to everyone’s heart.”
