On Thursday 2nd March 2017 – Sunday 5th March 2017, the Music and Welsh Departments at Bryn Hafren Comprehensive School took over 50 pupils to France for a 4 day visit to Euro Disney, Paris.
The pupils had the opportunity to celebrate being Welsh by watching various Welsh language acts, including Welsh pop groups and to experience Welsh culture in a very different environment, as well as enjoying all the usual activities Disneyland and Universal Studios had to offer.
As part of the weekend, the Music Department choir also performed live on the CineMagique Stage in central Disney as part of the Welsh Festival. The choir had to successfully pass a vigorous audition process to enable them to perform at the festival. The vocal repertoire included music by Rhianna, Sean Mendes, Pop Mash-Ups as well as traditional Welsh Music.
The music department would like to thank all pupils and parents for their support in the lead up to the live music event, which required several weeks of preparation work including rehearsals at lunchtimes and after school. The department are already looking forward to booking the trip again next year.
